British expat on martial law in Mindanao: We feel safe, we are safe

"How is martial law affecting us? Not at all. It has not affected how I drive down to the road, it hasn’t affected how I go to a restaurant, it hasn’t affected how I walk to the streets."

British expat Terence Flannery shared his thoughts about the martial law in Mindanao.

A video posted by Hidden Truth PH, Mr. Flannery stated that nothing has changed since President Duterte's declaration of martial law.

"How is martial law affecting us? Not at all. It has not affected how I drive down to the road, it hasn’t affected how I go to a restaurant, it hasn’t affected how I walk to the streets."

He cited some example on how their life goes on as he is living in the country for a long time and what experience they have in martial law.

“It’s just business as usual just getting around doings things that we do and nothing has changed.”

Flannery said that it is not only the Philippines was having a problem in the government. Even other countries were dealing with it.

Same in Texas and Scotland, they wanted to separate from their states. Also, same way how some Muslims also wanted to own and separate from the region.

He said that the country was facing different kinds of problems such as controversies, insurgencies, rebels, and corruption.

"It happens all around the world. It’s all about money and power and the people who are in power usually because they have a great deal of money and they can buy their way in."

Moreover, on Flannery video, he guaranteed that in Mindanao where he lived in is safe and nothing to worry about and totally no gunfire is heard.

He just said that only a curfew was implemented but they are safe.

“We feel safe, we are safe. Nobody’s changed and their attitude towards me. They treated exactly the same and almost a way which is special for anybody else would be. I’ve been treated extra nice. That’s all for us about the martial law it is not affecting us at all.”
