Trillanes on cops, soldiers pay hike: it's because of Aquino. President Duterte has nothing to do with this

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said that the reason why the salaries increase of the soldiers, policemen and other government employees were because of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

Trillanes stated that the increase was signed last 2016 before Aquino left. He said executive order 201 signed by Aquino that covers all government personnel pay hike.

“Our military and police personnel should be aware that their allowances, together with the salaries of all government employees, have significantly increased since 2016, and will continue to increase until 2019," said Trillanes.

The senator said that Duterte hasn't yet fulfilled his promise in increasing the salary of the PNP and soldiers.

"This increase is actualized by EO 201 signed by the previous administration. President Duterte has nothing to do with this. His promise to double the salaries of soldiers and policemen remains an unfulfilled promise," Trillanes said.

Trillanes reaction was after Marine Col. Edgard Arevalo, chief of the Armed Forces' Public Affairs Office statement. He and other soldiers were grateful to President Duterte over the additional of wages.
