Senator Panfilo Lacson commented about the calling to resign Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa.
Lacson said that people should give Dela Rosa a second chance and more than anything he knew well President Duterte, that's what it makes more advantage.
"Halimbawang magre-resign ka, tatanggalin ka, ready ba 'yung institution? Yung trust ng Pangulo sa kaniya napakataas... More than anybody in the organization, siya 'yung pinakamaalam bumasa kay Pangulong Duterte. That's a big advantage."
"Kung babalik sa what he used to be, makaka-recover pa siya. Gusto ko siyang bigyan ng pagkakataon kasi I know him quite well.
Lacson described dela Rosa as a wise man, 'unassuming' and 'humble.' So he deserved a second chance.
But also, the senator said that dela Rosa might overwhelm from 'fame and popularity.'
He advised him that what happened serves a lesson to him. He should set his priorities and be serious at work.
"Matalinong tao 'yan... [With a task], he would work on it and he would deliver.
