Senator Manny Pacquiao defended President Rodrigo Duterte against his critics after the latter commented about martial law.
Pacquiao said Duterte knew what he is doing and he knew that it is for the good of all common people.
He also reiterated his support to Duterte's war on drugs.
Pacquiao was close to the president. He knew Duterte very well and he won't do anything that can harm people and just for self-interest.
Believe me, believe me,” he said.
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III said that what Duterte stated was a fact and he said that Duterte didn't say he will declare martial law.
“He’s just stating a fact but he’s not saying that he’s going to declare martial law,” Sotto said.
"The issue is, will it be supported by the people? Is it necessary? Will the Congress or the Supreme Court conform?” he added.
