Tired of the daily reports on killings of suspected drug addicts? President Rodrigo Duterte has good news: The violence could stop as soon as possible– but only if hooligans stop their shenanigans.
In his speech before the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Saturday (Jan. 4), Duterte laid down the “easy” conditions he has for the country to become heaven on earth.
“You want walang patayan? No deaths? You want a city with no military men, no patrol cars whatever? You want na ang punerarya bangkarota na? Madali lang. Drop your guns if you are a terrorist; drop the shabu tonight and tomorrow it will be heaven,” he said.
Duterte has threatened to kill drug pushers until the end of his term to crush what he has described as a “destructive” narcotics trade.
Human rights groups estimate that over 6,200 people have been killed since Duterte assumed office in July as his administration wages war against illegal drugs.
