Two months after viral photo and video of two young students crossed the life-threatening tight rope bridge, Public Works and Highway (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar announced on his Facebook the near completion of the hanging bridge on Friday.
The viral video showed a two students crossing the river using the rope just to attend school.
"Last December, we watched a video posted on Facebook by Yasmin Mangorsi which shows a young boy and his sister struggling to cross a river using a tight rope bridge in Barangay Lanipao, Iligan. Happy to report that the bridge is almost complete," Villar said.
The viral video was located in Barangay Lanipao, Iligan. Villar posted a photo where it can be seen the ongoing construction of the bridge.
Political analyst Sass Rogando Sasot also posted photos of the hanging bridge. She said she was so glad for the quick response of Sec. Mark Villar.
