Bato to stay as PNP Chief says President Duterte
President Rodrigo Duterte already gave his words with regards to the calls for PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa's resignation.
Duterte said that dela Rosa will stay as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and he said he has a 'complete trust' to Bato.
"He stays there. Bato has my complete trust," Duterte said.
Duterte attended dela Rosa's birthday celebration on Saturday at Camp Crame.
He said he wanted the PNP to identify who were the policemen involved in the abduction.
Earlier, Bato said that he will talk to Duterte personally after being asked if he will pass a resignation letter.
I am ready, I will ask the President kung pabigat ako sa kanya…then…I will ask him,” Dela Rosa said.
Calls for Dela Rosa’s resignation have been made following news about the brutal killing of a Korean businessman inside Camp Crame last year.
House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has called for Dela Rosa's resignation. Amid his calls, he was seen attended on Bato's birthday.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella cited that there was no whitewash in the kidnap-slay.
"We assure everyone that there will be no whitewash or cover-up," Abella said.
We will not tolerate corrupt, abusive, errant policemen who betray the organization and the men and women in uniform who continue their faithful, dedicated and loyal service to the country," Abella added.
