No pickpocket, snatching incident reported in Divisoria since Christmas season—NCRPO Albayalde
According to National Capital Region Police Office head Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde on Friday, since the yuletide holiday sets in, he said no incident of pickpocketing or snatching was reported in Divisoria.
"Since nagsimula 'yung Christmas season, walang incident ng snatching sa lugar na ito despite na napakaraming tao," Albayalde said.
Albayalde said it is because of the police presence in the area. He said before each day they reported 2-3 incidents of snatching.
Divisoria is very a crowded place in Metro Manila. Especially this holiday season, shoppers just come and go, numbers became tripled and all were busy buying stuff for the preparation of Christmas and New Year.
"One thing is 'yung deployment ng personnel natin, 'yung PNP uniformed personnel natin dito napakarami," Albayalde said.
"Ang incidents na nai-report dito since December ay missing children, mga dalawa hanggang tatlo bawat araw pero naibabalik naman sa mga magulang. Ang meron (ay) theft sa loob ng mall, shoplifting," he added.
