Sen. Sotto on Dayan's wife: “I think she is more of the victim”
Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III commented to the House probe on Thursday, where Ronnie Dayan became the star witness.
Sotto said that if there's someone who mostly affected and hurt about the issue, it was the wife of Dayan.
“I am quizzical about why some women legislators are so concerned about the privacy of Sen. De Lima and yet I have not heard them to be concerned about the wife of Dayan. I think she is more of the victim,” Sotto said.
“I think she is the most badly hurt, not only by the issues raised in Congress, but by the impact of the controversy on her children and family,” he added.
The congressional hearing was the hot topic last Thursday. VP Robredo, Poe and Honteviros slammed the members of the committee for they see it as 'too personal.'
According to Robredo, the hearing was a harassment and “slut shaming.”
Hontiveros said it was a “public lynching in aid of misogyny and sexism.”
Poe also said the personal issues should not be tackled inside.
Meanwhile, the House of the committee is considering to file a case against de Lima for ordering Dayan not to attend the summons.
