PNP chief Dela Rosa on Kerwin Espinosa's security: "I will watch over him even if I have to do it myself"
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa on Tuesday said Kerwin Espinosa should not be worry because he will protect him personally.
“He should not worry. I will watch over him even if I have to do it myself. Nothing will happen to him,” Dela Rosa said.
Dela Rosa just arrived on Tuesday early morning with Senator Manny Pacquiao from Los Angeles.
PNP chief also said to ensure the safety of other high profile drug personalities.
“They should not be afraid. That (Espinosa’s death) is an isolated case. They should not be afraid as long as I am here. We will investigate the mayor’s death,” Dela Rosa said.
Dela Rosa said he would meet with Solicitor General Jose Calida at the Department of Justice to discuss if the sworn affidavit of slain Mayor Rolando Espinosa could still be used in court.
According to Bato, he said the death of Mayor Espinosa is not a case of extra-judicial killing because their operation was 'legitimate'.
“Their (PNP personnel’s) actions were legitimate. They had a search warrant so we cannot say it is EJK,” Dela Rosa said.
