President Rodrigo Duterte's statements on Friday became controversial, as he said, “Hitler massacred three million Jews. Now there’s three million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them.”
A post of a netizen cites different headlines from the international media about President Duterte. It showed how media literally interpreted his statements and making it appeared in a wrong way.
"For the sake of the 97 million Filipinos who believe in you, Mr. President, please do not provide your detractors and destabilizers with more than what they already have," Reyes said.
Ms. Reyes said we can't control the media in spreading an exaggerating news and the opponents are using it to destroy Duterte's reputation.
She has an advised to Duterte right now, she said: "please focus on the factors which are within your control at this time." Because of the fact that the mainstream media is uncontrollable.
Reyes said she still believes that President Duterte has a complete control of what he will say and do.

See the difference (and similarities!):
24 Oras:Pres. Duterte umalma, nagalit sa pagkumpara sa kanya kay Hitler. Sinakyan na lang nya sa inis.
TV Patrol:Pres. Duterte hinalintulad ang sarili nya kay Hitler; 3,000,000 papatayin.
Times UK, Yahoo, other foreign news:"Duterte: I'm happy to slaughter 3,000,000 drug addicts like Hitler"
CNN & other local & foreign news:"Philippine President likens himself to Hitler"
Mr. President, I so understand your frustration and anger at US, UN, EU, and your critics but please do not let your emotion get the better of you.
There's really not much you/we can do to stop these news agencies from exaggerating or from taking your words literally and for your detractors from using the same to destroy you--unless of course your office can and is willing to engage highly-paid international political strategists, PR & media consultants and allot multi-million $$$...
Given the above Mr. President, please focus on the factors which are within your control at this time. While you/we have no control over the local and foreign mainstream media, I would like to believe you still have complete control of what you say and do.
I know you mean well, Mr. President. I know you want best for this country and for the people. But please understand that while your use of humor, sarcasm, and hyperbole in your speeches are entertaining and are well received and well understood by many of your supporters, these same rhetorics are also used as ammunitions against you by your detractors.
For the sake of the 97 million Filipinos who believe in you, Mr. President, please do not provide your detractors and destabilizers with more than what they already have.
