"A huge catch of fish": Pinoy fishermen can now freely fish in Scarborough Shoal

It was such a good news after hearing from fishermen in Pangasinan that they were able to go inside the Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal and they got tons of fishes there.

Just on Saturday morning, fishermen arrived with lots of fish. They showed the fish they caught and surprisingly, it was big species of fish.

According to GMA report, the skipper of F/B Rovinna fishing boat, Gilbert Rovinna said that perhaps it was the result of President Duterte talks with China.

Filipino fishermen were grateful after they allowed to enter the lagoon, in which according to them, it is the part of the shoal that is very much abundance of fish.

Meanwhile, these are among the fishes they caught in shoal, black and orange lapu-lapu fish, bakalaw, tanigue, and damas o bisugong bato, and many more.

Fishermen Noel Daruca also expressed how happy he was and he said they were hoping it will continue.

“Makakabawi na, tagal din naming hindi nakabawi, masaya siyempre, sana tuloy-tuloy na,” Daruca said.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella said that the Chinese Coast Guard vessels are no longer at the Scarborough Shoal.

"Also on regarding fishing in Scarborough Shoal, for the past three days it has been observed that there are no longer any Chinese Coast Guard vessels and that Filipino fishing boats are no longer being intercepted and that they are now able to fish in the area without being intercepted," Abella said.
