Suarez to De Lima: "Karma lang iyang nangyari sa iyo"
House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez vent out his sentiments toward Senator Leila de Lima.
Suarez said that Sen. de Lima deserved the karma. That what she is enduring now was same fate with Arroyo, with all the controversies and her involvement in the proliferation of drugs in the New Bilibid Prison.
Suarez slammed De Lima for the wrongdoings that she did and he said it will catch up to De Lima ultimately.
"Karma lang iyang nangyari sa iyo. Tignan mo naman yung ginawa kay [Arroyo]…ngayon napatunayan ng korteng wala siyang kasalanan…Ang dami niyang ginawang paglabag sa kanyang tungkulin bilang kalihim ng katarungan. It will catch up to you ultimately."
After the inmates testify against De Lima, some officials already urged her to resign as a Senator.
Suarez said that Arroyo suffered so much under her hands when De Lima was still the Justice Secretary. Arroyo was detained for years and just recently, she was proven not guilty and freed from jail.
Likewise, Suarez cited that because of power the people act greedily. The tendency of so much power is that they abuse it.
"May mga tao kasi na kapag nakahawak ng power eh akala mo wala nang katapusan. This is a sheer case of abuse of power…"
According to Suarez, the moral lesson of this is:
"Ang moral of the story is public officials should be accountable for their acts, and tread carefully on legalities of what doing."
