PNP lauched 'text Bato' 24/7 hotline




The Philippine National Police (PNP) finally launched the 'Text Bato' hotline on Monday so that the public can report directly their concerns to PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.


The public can report drug-related matters as well as crimes that needs immediate actions by the police.

This hotline was in coordination with the PLDT Inc. and Globe Telecom Inc.

Acording to Smart Telecommunications Inc., the mobile subsidiary of PLDT Facebook post, "Text Bato is the 24/7 hotline project of the PNP that allows citizens to report crime incidents and law enforcement concerns directly to the police chief director Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa."

Also, the "Bato" hotline is centralized and connected to provincial and regional police officers. Then, the reports will trasferred to the concerned police station.

Globe, on the other hand said that they charged P2.50 per text message via 2286, while Smart has not yet give any detail how much it cost.

"Globe is aware that the availability of an affordable and accessible integrator for Text Bato will significantly enhance the PNP's readiness to address the public's police concerns and thus improve the peace and order situation in the country in general," Globe General Counsel Atty. Froilan Castelo said via email.
