Dela Rosa thankful to Duterte after extending deadline war vs drugs: "Nagpapasalamat ako na may trabaho pa ako"

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Monday was grateful to President Rodrigo Duterte after announcing the extension of the deadline in the campaign against illegal drugs otherwise, his career as a PNP chief will end soon.

“Nagpapasalamat ako na dinagdagan pa ni Presidente, in-extend ang aking pagseserbisyo dahil sinabi ko naman talaga na kapag failure ako after six months mag-surrender ako sa kanya dahil I don’t deserve to be Chief PNP dahil hindi ko kinaya ang trabaho na pinagawa niya sakin. So nagpapasalamat ako na may trabaho pa ko after six months,” Dela Rosa said.

Earlier, President Duterte asked the Filipinos to give him another 6 months in his war on drugs after finding out the extent of drugs in the country.

“Nakita ni Presidente na hindi talaga makaya sa six months so maendanger na maalis sa ako serbisyo dahil six months yung deadline namin,” Dela Rosa said.

“Magmamadali pa rin tayo para as soon as possible kung pwede matapos na matapos kaagad. But not to the extent na ma-sacrifice ang quality over quantity di ba because we are running out of time,” Dela Rosa added.

Dela Rosa said they will do their best to eradicate the illegal drugs and to arrest those people who are responsible for these.
