President Duterte to convert presidential plane into 'air ambulance'

During the visits of President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday at Camp Vicente Lucban in Catbalogan City, Samar. He reiterated his promise to convert the Fokker F28 jet into "air ambulance" for the sick and the wounded patients in transporting to hospitals.

"I have also requested [National Defense] Secretary [Delfin] Lorenzana to make the arrangement because I am giving up the presidential plane, convert it into an air ambulance," Duterte said.

"Hayaan mo na ang next president na maghanap ng eroplano na kanya. Ako, I want to convert it into pangmadalian," he added.

President Duterte already mentioned his plans last May. He said he was comfortable taking a commercial flight or he can ride the small jet.
"You'll have about so many planes for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Tutal ako komportable na ako sa PAL pati itong Cebu Pacific. Matagal namang walang nahulog diyan so okay na siguro ang mga eroplano nila," Duterte said.

"Sometimes I can use a jet plane, a small one kung may pang-gasolina. I just pay the gasoline, air, pati operational costs,"President said.

According to Philippine Star, Duterte, his family and VIPs rode in the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing of the Philippine Air Force for any important matters.

Earlier, Duterte also wants to turn into floating hospital the presidential yacht or the BRP Ang Pangulo.
