In a news conference on August 30, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa revealed the identity of 30 individuals including a senator, police officers and members of congress were allegedly cohorts of his son druglord Kerwin Espinosa.

After Espinosa became teary-eyed in his conference, he then divulged the personalities in his affidavit linked to drugs and when asked if there's a senator involved, he just nodded.

Albuera chief of police Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido admitted that there is a senator in the given affidavit of Mayor Espinosa.

Espenido confirmed it was a former secretary of justice.

"May senador nga. May senador (na) isa, nakita ko. Dating secretary ng DOJ siguro yun... Nakita ko lang," Espenido said.

Meanwhile, Espinosa also called for his son, Kerwin to surrender to the police authorities.
