Bothered by the Senate discussion on extra-judicial killings and the drug problem on statements by senators that it is the judiciary's delay in the prosecution of drugs cases that is one of the reasons for the drug menace and making it faster in disposing cases will be the solution. Why?

First, do they know that drugs courts are acting with dispatch taking into account the trial periods.

Saan ba nagtatagal, sa prosecutorial level dahil nga takot din ang ating mga prosecutors to file cases and I cannot blame them. And FYI, the prosecutors are under the executive branch and not the judiciary so it bothers me more that statement is coming from a lawyer-senator.

Second, it also bothers me that judges who dismiss drugs cases or has the propensity to dismiss drugs cases will be investigated.
It just sends the wrong message. Cases maybe dismissed because of the prosecution has failed to substantiate evidence due to poor or sloppy police or investigative work that merits the action. Improve and train the PNP and clean its ranks. Moreover, give protection to judges assigned to drugs courts. In Colombia, judges in drug courts are hidden even from the lawyers and the accused to avoid being killed. If you cannot guarantee the safety of judges, they cannot do their mandate without thinking of their safety or that of their families.

Third, by saying the problem is due to slow administration of justice is actually encouraging a judge not be circumpsect in convicting people accused of drug offenses.

Fourth, that is the problem with giving Congress especially the Senate too much media attention, they can always blame the other branches for the problem or the burden of the solution just to look good.
For a change, why would they not admit accountability that they failed to enact proactive and creative laws and legislate the solution on the drugs menace. Most of them held the position since I could remember either as Congressmen ir Senators. Put their resources to good use and not exhaust everything to discredit their political opponents like Binay or attack other for not doing their jobs or because it is a popular thing. Balls, I respect even if I do not share her sentiment.

I understand the latter for criticizing because that is her job as a fiscalizer. And matagal na niyang tinitira si PRRD about that so give her props for consistency since she was CHR Chair before DOJ Secretary. I am not saying totoo ang sinasabi niya but I admire her guts to say it despite the overwhelming popularity of our President. And tinitira niya at binabash kaya kailangan niya sumagot din kasi senador siya at obligasyon niya.

What I am saying is this: I am not in government because alam ko mahirap ang public service and not for me. But I can complain because I pay my taxes and I repeat, my complaint is still the same.
