On Friday, the wife of former Police Chief Superintendent Vicente Loot and a mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu denied the allegation of her husband and that their wealth was not from the illegal drugs, in her interview in GMA news.

Earlier, Vicente Loot denied the assertions and said that he was a casualty of dark publicity.

Maria Loot said she was hurt by questioning their wealth and hearing that their money came from drugs.

"Alam mo, kahit sino masakit to eh. Yung mga tanong lang... na ang pera namin galing sa drugs," she said.

Maria Luisa Loot said the money she earned was from her bags and jewelries business since she was 22 years old. She admitted they have a lot of properties but not large amounts of money.

"Nagtitinda ako ng mga bag na signature, mga damit, jewelries kung may maghahanap. Kasi yun ang mula noong 22 years old ako yun ang una kong naging negosyo na magbebenta ng alahas. Kahit halungkatin niyo pa lahat, wala kaming perang marami. Marami kaming property, when I was single na hindi pa ako nagpolitoko,"Maria Loot said.

They own cockpit field and several extravagance cars, which Maria asserted was subsidized by a credit.

Their house, a 3,000 square meter property, has a capacity corridor, a koi lake, a swimming pool, and a Japanese patio nursery. They also have 18 properties, a townhouse in Mango Green Village in Mandaue City,a lending investors.

Loot conceded that he have a companion Peter Lim.

"Meron akong kaibigan na Peter Lim. At one time he was also...in a controversy in drugs. That was a long time ago already. And when I came into the picture as a Regional Chief of Narcotics Office, cleared na siya, wala na siya sa listahan," Loot said.

They proclaimed their total assets to be more than P70 million in their 2014 SALN.
