PNP chief says nearly 60,000 users and drug pushers surrendered

Chief Supt. Camilo Cascolan, chief directorate for operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced in the press conference that nearly 60,000 users and drug pushers surrenderred to authorities across the country.

According to the ABS-CBN, Casolan said it has 57,816 users of drugs while 2157 was the pushers.

Meanwhile , 1,657 drug suspects arrested while 127 were killed after they resisted the police in recent drug operations .

The chief admits a lack of rehabilitation centers across the country because of the volume of surrenderees.

Casolan stated that they plan to develop interagency committee with five clusters that respond to the restraint of the utilization of illicit medications.

The law enforcement cluster of police are cluster awareness to the Department of Education (DepEd),rehabilitation of the Department of Health (DOH),prosecution to the Department of Justice (DOJ), and alternative learning cluster to the local governments.

But according to Cascolan based on their list, only three to four percent just a target for police to reach 1.8 million users and drug pushers in the country.
