5 PNP generals allegedly involved in drug trade, 2 are Roxas supporters

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, July 5 named five police generals allegedly involved in illegal drug trade.
In his speech at Philippine Air Force’s 69th anniversary (PAF) at Clark Air Base, in Pampanga. Two of them are reportedly supporters of Liberal Party (LP) president bet, Mar Roxas.

According to President Duterte, the said PNP (Philippine National Police) officials are Gen. Marcelo Garbo, Gen. Vicente Loot, Gen. Bernardo Diaz of Region 11, Gen. Joel Pagdilao of the NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office) and Gen. Edgardo Tinio of QCPD (Quezon City Police District). He immediately ordered them to be relieved from their respective posts.
“All along, tayong mga mamamayan thought that we are being protected by the police primarily. Masakit pakinggan kasi ginastusan mo na, binayaran mo ‘yung pag-aaral niya, lahat ng uniporme, pati medyas niya, pati sapatos gastos mo, tapos you commit. By any language it is really treason,” Duterte said.
“I do not necessarily humiliate people. But dumating ako sa position na to and I say, I have a sacred position. It is my moral duty, my obligation that you should know what is happening to the country. Nandito na ko so gagawin ko na ang dapat kong gawin (I’m now her so I will do what I should be doing).” President Duterte said on his speech.
“And I’d like to name publicly: General Marcelo Garbo, he was a protector of the drug syndicates in this country; General Vicente Loot, who is now the mayor of Cebu in one of the municipalities of Cebu; General (Bernardo) Diaz, the former regional director of Region 11; General (Joel) Pagdilao, former regional director NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office), General (Eduardo) Tinio, former QCPD (Quezon City Police District) director,” he added.
Duterte said:”As of this time, I order them relieved from their assignments and report to director general (PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa).”
“I would like to talk to them and certainly, I would expect the (National Police) commission to do their thing. Imbestigahan ninyo ito at huwag ninyo akong bigyan ng zarzuela,” said Duterte.

“As [of] this time, I order them relieved from their assignments and report to the director general [Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa],” “I would like to talk them and certainly, I would expect the [National Police Commission to do their thing.” Duterte added, noting that these police generals suspected drug lor protectors have committed treason.

Garbo, who retired in March 2014, acted as PNP Deputy Director General, or the No. 2 man in the police force. Based on the news report by Philstar last April 3, he, and four active PNP officials were spotted by media in a bar at the Novotel hotel at Araneta Center, having a meeting with unnamed LP officials while wearing civilian clothes.

Recently, last weekend Diaz and other 3 PNP officials were spotted again in a hotel.
