Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte promised during his campaign to suppress illegal drugs and heinous crimes for the span of 3-6 months. But few days before President-elect Duterte assumes his presidency, the tally of killed suspects involved in illegal drugs raise up to 29 and 3,760 arrested.



Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte promised during his campaign to suppress illegal drugs and heinous crimes for the span of 3-6 months. But few days before President-elect Duterte assumes his presidency, the tally of killed suspects involved in illegal drugs raise up to 29 and 3,760 arrested.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), the suspects killed in illegal drugs increased. From May 10- June 15 ,2016  they were able to tally of 29 suspects. Unlike, last year for 4 months in only reached 39.

Moreover, PNP data arrested in illegal drugs reached up to 3,760. The top list of arrested in illegal drugs are the Region 4-A, NCR, Region 3, Region 10 and Region 7.

The spokesperson of Philippine National Police (PNP) C/Supt. Wilben Mayor during his interview said, "The reasons why the suspects were killed is because there is a shootout between the law enforcers and the suspects."

C/Supt. Mayor said that the policemen were just following the operational procedures because it shows a 'imminent danger on their part'.

PNP admitted that the effect of incoming President- elect Duterte campaign against illegal drugs was a big help for the law enforcers to fight against it.

Also, PNP Mayor commended the reward system of Duterte because it added impact for faster captured of the suspects. He added that "it is not also an excuse not to do their job properly."


In DZMM teleradyo, Incoming PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa once again warned the policemen involved in illegal drugs. 


"Personalin mo sila, hindi trabaho lang. Personalin mo talaga. So dapat ngayon ganu'n 'yung thinking ng lahat ng pulis para maubos itong mga kriminal na ito."

According to Mayor, they should start to investigate and decide now the cases of 91 police officials arrested against illegal drugs last 2014 and 2015.
