More than 700 drug users and peddlers voluntarily surrendered in Quezon City


In Quezon City, More than 700 drug users and peddlers voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Camp Karingal.

Mayor Herebert Bautista  said yesterday " Drug users have seven days to surrender before the city government launches an all out war on illegal drugs"

The city government gives a second chance to these drug victims, providing rehabilitation and as well as the  basic needs of their families.

Bautista also cited, they will be prioritized in job offering by the government and providing an alternative education programs by TESDA.


Sr. Supt. Joselito Esquivel said " thos drug users and peddlers  who surrendered would be given amnesty and assistance for rehabilitation.
"We're doing this even before with the current administration. But with the incoming president, with the policy direction against drugs, mas malakas lang ang dating ngayon at mas marami ang tumawag," Esquivel said.
All drug users and peddlers underwent free drug test, sign a sworn statement and pledge to stop their illegal activities.  
In a past few days, 352 drug users and pusher voluntarily surrendered to the authorities in 12 Barangays of Quezon City.
But to those remain stubborn, Bautista said " they will face the city government's iron fist"
