On Friday, Japanese Ambassador Kazuhide Ishikawa and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Jose Rene Almendras signed a contract, the Cultural Grant Aid will help the improvement of the programs and the PTV-4.
NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster, said that the grant aid will cover the acquisition of the programs.
Their aims is to 'expand and broaden the range' of PTV-4’s educational and cultural content and foreign programming, with an eye to transition to digital terrestrial broadcasting.
Last year, June 4, 2015, the Japanese and the Philippine governments stated that both countries would advance other important cooperation on terrestrial digital broadcasting using ISDB-T through the issued of Japan-Philippines Joint Declaration.
On the other hand, during the Thanksgiving party of incoming President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, only the PTV-4 had the access to broadcast live the event because of the issue happened between the media.
And now, Duterte said he wants his press conference and interviews, to be aired in the state-owned television, PTV-4.
