Ferdinand Marcos remains to be buried in September

The remains of former President Ferdinand Marcos will buried in Libingan ng mga Bayani this September. Last Friday night, President- elect Rodrigo Duterte and defeated Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, JR. agreed this matter during their meet-up in Davao City.

Outgoing Senator Bongbong Marcos said during the interview that they haven't finalized yet the details of the burial.

This was Marcos said in his interview Saturday morning after the get together of Duterte, "The discussion was very informal but we're eyeing (to make it happen) on September. We agreed that it will happen this year."

Marcos also said that he meet Duterte to thank him personally for deciding to bury his father in Libingan ng mga Bayani despite the criticisms.

Duterte already mentioned about Marcos' remains during his press conference. As he was saying, “I will allow the burial of President Marcos sa Libingan ng mga Bayani, not because he is a hero…but because he was a Filipino soldier. Period. That can be arranged immediately. Yang issue na yan has long created a division amongst our people. Almost all of Ilocanos, naghihinanakit talaga.” he said.

Many people condemned about this matter especially, the citizens who'e experienced the Martial law.

In one petition posted in change.org, it stated "Ferdinand E. Marcos is not a hero. Only heroes are buried in the Heroes' Cemetery as the name so literally states."

Another thing stated was burying Marcos in Libingan ng mga Bayani would be an affront to the thousands of lives tortured and murdered during the dictator's reign.
