Cayetano submits proposal 50,000 minimun salary of policemen

Outgoing Senator Peter Allan Cayetano revealed during the gathering of alumni from the Philippine National Police Academy on Sunday that he already submitted a proposal to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and incoming police chief  Ronald"Bato" dela Rosa the three options on how to increase the salary of the law enforcers.

Even before, Duterte's administraton has already a plan of increasing the salary of policemen to a minimum of P50,000 per month. 

According to Cayetano, the funding would reached about P70 billion. The P50 billion will be the increase of salaries and and the remaining P20 billion is for the retirement.

Cayetano also mentioned that the P50,000 basic salary would include the allowance, factored in for income tax. He said that the increase was based on the living of cost in Metro Manila. 

As of now, the salary of the lowest rank of policemen is about P15,000.

“For an additional P50 billion, we can give a minimum of P50,000 graduated pataas,” “It’s very doable.”Cayetano said.

Allan Cayetano also included that the salary increase of the military was on their work of calculations by the administration.

Cayetano stated that for this to achieve, he needs the supports of both Houses of Congress.

He added that the administration have money if the Congress would agree and it will be given in the latter part of the year, just before Christmas.

Cayetano focuses right now was the increase of the policemen and the military while all government employees also demand for an increase in their salary.
