A man lives for 18 months without a heart. Watch how this happens!






As we all know, our heart is the center of your cardiovascular system, and it is vitally responsible for just about everything that gives your body life. So how would a person lived without a heart?

A 25 year-old man, Stan Larkin resident in Ypsilanti, Michigan lived for 555 days without a heart. Something's unbelievable, right? But there's this new device called  SynCardia Temporary Artificial Heart. A power source for an artificial heart pumping in his chest. The surgeoun of University of Mchigan replaced Larkin's heart to sustain his life while waiting for a heart donor.

Stan Larkin's heart removed last November 2014. they replaced it with the device for him can stay at home. A backpack, Larkin always been carrying has the device inside. He could even play basketball despite his condition. Living a typical young adult. 

Finally, after the long wait last May, Larkin was able to have a heart transplant. He's now on a recovery stage in University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center and ready to go back home next week, according to the report.

In one of his interview in CNN, he said "Most people would be scared to go so long with [an artificial heart], but I just want to tell them that you have to go through the fear, because it helps you," he continued, "I'm going home so fast after the transplant because it helped me stay healthy before the transplant."

Larkin discovered his heart condition 9 years ago when he collapsed while playing basketball. He learned that he had a familial cardiomyopathy, a genetic form of heart disease.


Larkin's said after receiving heart transplant, “I enjoyed the backpack,” he said .“It brought my life back.”
