Liberal Party vice-presidential candidate and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo said early Tuesday that she was confident claim Victory as Vice President and called on supporters not to give up and keep praying.
"Palapit na tayo. Ayon sa projections, mananalo tayo," Robredo said in a Facebook post. "Walang bibitiw. Sa huli, ang tama ang mananaig. Dasal pa tayo. #LabanLeni"
In an earlier post she said, "[M]say sarili po tayong operation quick count at naikita natin na sa dakong huli tayo ang mananaig."
This year's vice presidential race is as closely watched as the presidential derby as the son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., attempts to inch his way closer to Malacañang.
However, Robredo, the widow of Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, made major gains late in the race and is now neck and neck with Marcos according to polls.
According to partial and unofficial results as of 9AM., Tuesday, representing 89.44% of the Nationwide Election Returns, Marcos had 13,096,831 votes, while Robredo had 13,212,058.
